2012 AC Cobra Venom RT with 350 Chevy

When I bought her she had a bump at the rear left and some other minor damage. Her stripe was sommer a chrome vinyl sticker.

I always wanted a blue Cobra, thus with the damage and stripe it was an easy decision to have her completely repainted. This one I had repainted in Boksburg before I shipped her down because I know an excellent panel beater up north.

Manny at Dent Doctor Boksburg did an absolutely stunning job with the paint work. Unlike most other panel beaters, he has a part of his workshop which only caters for vehicle projects. He does it the right way, let the paint settle before final coats, thus the repaint job is a 3 month project, but is well worth the wait.

I have chosen a blue which I like and it turned out to be a Porche Blue. They did the stripe for me in pearl white and the stripe is flush with the blue.

I have rebuilt the dash for obvious reasons. Used the correct Smiths guages for the dash.

Fixed minor things like gas struts, has some Cobra gas strut brackets made, etc.

Also had to fix various oil leaks. Most common oil leak on a Chevy v8 normally is the stupid cork gaskets they use on the tappet covers. It is now standard practise when I get a Chevy v8 to replace the tappet cover gaskets with rubber or silicon gaskets. If need be I also replace the sump gasket with a proper silicone sump gasket.

She had brand new Edelbrock carb on, which I kept for now and she came with nice bling on the engine.

I did however change the original rockers with roller rockers.

I also had the headers rebuilt by PowerFlow in Belville, as the headers were totally wrong and touched the fibre glass. Side pipes were just sanded down and repainted and the heat shields removed.

I am still looking for the correct rims as she has a narrow body Backdraft body and apparently the correct rims wont fit.
